Start off your new year in Crown Heights! Seeking a mid/late twenties and/or early thirties professional to sublet a large, furnished bedroom on the second floor of a newly renovated Crown Heights brownstone apartment with a private entrance. The bedroom is 11.5'x19.5' and furnished with an armoire for clothing storage that is bolted to the wall. (Queen bed, mattress, shelf, armoire accoutrements, and lamp can be purchased for $250.) Stay comfy with radiant heat, window A/C, and a ceiling fan. There is a beautiful decorative 1930s fireplace in the room and crown moulding.

The apartment has ample natural light with multiple skylights, and features new appliances as of 2015 ? a stove, oven, fridge, dishwasher, and most importantly, a washer/dryer in unit. Plus, the shower has a skylight! In addition to your private bedroom, there is also a den with table and a television plus a ?tiny bonus room? used for hobbies.

No pets, no couples, and no smoking, please. You?ll be asked to lay down carpets on your bedroom floor to dampen the noise of your footsteps for the folks below. I try to be eco-friendly (and budget friendly) by composting, recycling, and turning off lights when not in use and would ask that you do the same, within reason.

The apartment is on beautiful Eastern Parkway, a 2-minute walk from the Kingston Avenue 3 station, and a 10-15 minute walk to the 2, 4, and 5. The space is also steps away from multiple bus routes like the B43 and B44. The streets are well-lit and safe, and while there is occasional celebratory noise from the Lubavitch Center across Eastern Parkway, the neighbors are friendly and respectful.

LGBTQ friendly. Rent is $1350 a month, due on the 27th, plus wifi and electricity, which totals about $50-80 a month (depending on A/C usage). Gas, heat, and water are included with rent. If you move in during January, rent will be prorated to the day your sublease begins. First, last, and security are required to move in, and sublease runs to August 31.

Since the apartment is in a brownstone, we'll be living above our landlords (an early-40s couple and their two young children) who are respectful and responsive to our needs, and who will want to meet you too.
