We have a sunny bedroom available starting September 1st in our beautiful, four-bedroom, two-bathroom carriage house. We absolutely love it here! Our roommate is moving out and we're looking for someone else to join us in this awesome house.
THE HOME
This is not some cramped, NYC apartment. It's a whole 3-floor house with an amazing roof-top deck and a huge basement! The house was built in the 1860s and has high ceilings with charming features including exposed brick and wooden beams throughout. The landlord is really responsive and the place is even getting a fresh paint of coat in all the common areas this week!
Basement:
Washer and dryer and lots of storage space for everyone
1st floor:
Kitchen & living/dining room
Fully furnished including comfy couches, tables, and even a piano. (We're open to new furniture if you have it.)
Working fireplace!
Bathroom
2nd floor:
2 bedrooms
3rd floor:
2 bedrooms
full bathroom
Roof-top:
Private deck including a grill, tables & seating for 12, tree cover and a little garden
THE ROOM
The room available is one of the better ones in the house. It's sunny, faces the backyard (extra quiet!), and is on the third floor (so no one is above you and it's also insulated from any living-room/kitchen noise.) The room is about 10'x9' and has a huge closet.
The bathroom is shared with 1 other person on the third floor, and it has a bathtub and shower.
THE LOCATION
We're on a quiet, tree-lined street that is as convenient as it gets, within a 5 minute walk to 12 subway lines, (A, C, G, 2, 3, 4, 5, B, D, Q, R, N and also the LIRR.) We're right between Park Slope, Downtown Brooklyn, Fort Green, Boerum Hill, and Prospect Heights.
Within a 5-10 minute walk:
Most every type of cafe, bar, & restaurant... seriously
Groceries: Stop & Shop, Wholefoods 365, bodegas, & the famed Park Slope Food Co-op
Shopping: Citypoint, Atlantic Terminal, and lots of small shops & boutiques
Fitness: Crunch Fitness, YMCA, Iyengar Institute, & others
Cultural venues: BAM, Alamo Drafthouse, Barclays Center
Parks: Fort Greene Park around the corner, & Prospect Park is just a 5 minute subway ride down Flatbush.
THE OTHER ROOMMATES
The other roomies are two women and a guy, all in their early to mid 30s, including a social entrepreneur, a reproductive rights advocate, and a firefighter-turned-lawyer. We value a drama-free living environment with open communication and respect for each other's space. We live independent lives but also enjoy each other's company and hosting friends once in a while.
We have a small, adorable dog, Miko, and unfortunately cannot take additional cats and dogs. Also, no regular smoking is allowed in the home.
YOU
We're looking for someone who is a mature, full-time professional or student and who shares similar values such as open communication and balancing independent living with sharing the common spaces socially.
COSTS
The room is $1,545. One month's rent of $1,545 plus security deposit of $2444 is required before moving in. Utilities are not included, but they run about $100/month. (That's for everything, including internet.)
You would be signing onto a lease with us, starting September 1st.
NEXT STEPS
We look forward to hearing from you! We're looking to make a decision by Friday, August 24th, since some of us are heading out of town for Labor day, so contact us ASAP to discuss & set-up a visit.
