Communal living in gorgeous sunny brooklyn loft!

Common space!

Hello! One room is open in our sunny Bed-Stuy loft! We are looking for a roommate to sign onto a one-year lease with us.

The apartment: Giant common space for living room/dining room, 2 full bathrooms, kitchen bar with seats, 5 private rooms. Beautiful open floor plan with no narrow hallways. We are the only unit in the building above a store on a second-floor walk-up. Renovated 2019 with all-new appliances: dishwasher, wood floors, incredible high ceilings, central heat & AC. Utilities generally come to less than $100 monthly. Every room has a closet. We have access to the roof which is the same square footage as the entire apartment below and has been a lifesaver during covid for outdoor gatherings– we grow vegetables on the roof and often project movies up there!

The neighborhood:
Steps away from beautiful Herbert Von King park!! Located near the best of Bed-Stuy cafes, restaurants, and bars, on a semi-residential main street lined with sweet local businesses! Between the G train and the A/C, 10 blocks from each, neither subway station has an elevator. The apartment is located directly on multiple major Brooklyn bus lines.

The roommates:
Amara: I’m 23, she/they, and split most of my time between music production/my in-person job at a Brooklyn recording studio and working remotely for a law firm doing anti voter suppression work. In my free time, I love to hang out with friends for dinner parties, card game nights, or concerts. I like to make beats, play guitar, ride my bike, and try out new recipes, and I have a houseplant habit that’s arguably out of control lol. I love hearing about my roommate’s days, going on a walk together for some ice cream, or kicking back & watching a show together.

Meghann: I’m 23, she/her, working hybrid remote/in person for my job as a program assistant at a social science research non-profit. i like sketching, playing guitar, and cooking with friends. i’m excited to share space with people and am always up for group creative projects or watching something together, and am excited to hopefully grow some fun things on the roof!

You: You are clean, kind, respectful, and down to hang! You are ideally queer and non-male. Interested in living cooperatively, with an agreed-upon weekly time to all deep-clean the apartment together, interest in cooking together/sharing some of our food, and an ability to pick up after yourself in the kitchen and common space. You are anti-racist, feminist, leftist, etc and are conscious of what it means to create a space with these values. You are fully vaccinated/boosted and covid-aware, and are able to communicate your boundaries and needs in regular house discussions around covid precautions as the situation develops. No cats please!
