1 Unfurnished room in large three-bedroom apt

We have 1 great unfurnished room available in our three-bedroom/one bathroom apartment in Bay Ridge. We're sisters who are looking to fill the third room until at least November 2020, when our lease will be renewed. *One sister will be renewing the lease for another two years, and you will have the option of staying in the room.*

The first room:

Wonderful eastern exposure with two windows that let in light and breezes.
Large enough for a queen bed plus additional bedroom furniture
Original wood floors.
Deep closet with built-in shelves.

The apartment & building

Fully furnished outside of your room. We can discuss what other furniture/decor/appliances/etc . you can bring if there are things with which you do not want to part.
Kind of enormous. The living room has two west-facing windows that let in a TON of sunlight.
Sixth floor of a quiet, pre-war six floor elevator building. The elevator was replaced a few years ago, and there is a relatively new video intercom system.
The super lives on the first floor and is really great about responding quickly to problems in the building and apartment. The management office is also located on the first floor.
Located roughly equidistant from the Bay Ridge Avenue and 77th Street stations on the R line. (It?s about an 8 minute walk.) There are also local and express buses.

The neighborhood

Fairly quiet, but there are plenty of bars and restaurants around the apartment and throughout the neighborhood.
Between 40 minutes and an hour from midtown Manhattan by subway.
Roughly an hour from Brighton Beach and Coney Island by bus or subway.
Lots of grocery stores and green grocers around the neighborhood. 86th Street also has good options for shopping, including the original Century 21 Department Store.
Much more car-friendly than a lot of other neighborhoods in New York.
Great places to run, bike ride or rollerblade, including a fantastic bike path and greenway along the Narrows.

About us:

33-year-old professional woman who works 8:30am-5pm in Manhattan Monday to Friday. I also teach swim lessons on Saturday mornings on the Upper East Side.
I'm clean and fairly neat and respectful of others' space and belongings. I keep fairly early hours during the week, and don't really enjoy drinking or partying much. BUT I do love to hang out and chat and socialize and get to know people better.

I love going to the theater, swimming and riding my bike.
I enjoy cooking and am totally open to sharing groceries and cooking together, if that's something you enjoy! *I will be staying in the apartment with the lease renewal.*

35-year-old professional woman who works 8:30am - 5:30pm in Manhattan Monday to Friday. Enjoys painting and drawing and running and cycling. Has one friendly gray cat who is getting older and enjoys sleeping in the sun.

You

A professional, responsible woman with a steady paycheck.
Drama-free.
Clean and fairly neat, willing to take turns with keeping communal areas (kitchen, living room, bathroom) clean.
Does not bring the party home, or at the very least waits until a weekend and warns us in advance.
Friendly! We do not have to be best friends, but it would be nice to hang out together from time to time.
No pets, please.

Financials

Please know that you will be asked to complete an application (with a $50 fee) provided by the management company, to ensure that you have good credit. We have signed a two-year lease and you will be asked to join us on the lease.
Rent: $725 a month, which includes heat and hot water.
Internet: Approximately $28.62 a month.
Cooking gas: Approximately $6.33 a month.
Electricity: Varies depending on the time of year; between $20 and $50 a month. We divide the electric evenly in non-summer months, and then depending on air conditioner use during the summer.
