A room with a private bath is available in a welcoming and colorful Oakland home. Easy access to Montclair Village, Oakland hills, Lake Merritt and more. Rent is $1150/month including utilities, except for internet which is only $20/month.

D (home owner) lives in the master suite on the second floor and A (tenant) has the other bed + bath combo on the first floor. Both roommates are friendly, tidy and respectful of shared spaces. D works from home and A works in the restaurant industry. We are friendly but mostly have our own routines and keep the home as a place to relax.

The bedroom is 130 square feet with ample storage space in the closet that runs the full width of the room. There is an additional hall closet just outside the room for linens. The bedroom has its own private bathroom that located right outside the bedroom.

There is a shared kitchen with gas range, individual pantry space and a spacious fridge. There is some room for pots/pans and dishes but the house is fairly well stocked. There is a combined living and dining room, no tv in the living room currently so feel free to bring your own. There’s plenty of light to keep your plants happy as well.

Washer/dryer on site, ample street parking, roses in the front yard. There is a spacious backyard that’s in need of some tlc if anyone feels motivated to garden. The garage has additional storage space for bikes or boxes.

We are close to Macarthur Blvd for those on transit, and both 580 and 13 are a 5 minute drive. The neighborhood is quiet and safe, with many families. Safeway is just off Macarthur and Fruitvale, and Farmer Joe’s and The Food Mill are nearby for great local produce and tasty organic/veggie/vegan groceries and snacks. There are some good local restaurants, faves include Grand Lake Kitchen, The Saint sandwich shop, and Wawa Thai food. In the other direction Montclair Village is just up the hill from us with plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants. We are also very close to Joaquin Miller Park and many trailheads in the Oakland Hills for the outdoorsy.
