Professional Returning to NY After Years Away

I'm a software engineer (20+ years) originally from NY but relocating back after 10 years away in SF and 10 in Indonesia. I'll be working in Manhattan and need a temporary space (~3 months) while I get settled and oriented. Within 6 months I intend to rent my own place large enough for my wife and kids, hence seeking something short-term. Bay Ridge (lots of masajid and halal food) or adjacent is our vibe, hence I'm looking for something temporary so I can easily scout my long term spot, with lots of available.

In my spare time I like riding motorcycles, writing, camping, theatre, live classical music, and playing board games with family and friends. Although I don't party, I'm very sociable and value good conversations. I'm happy to chat amicably about virtually any topic, even the conventionally controversial ones. I'm also perfectly fine doing my own thing and keeping occupied with my own hobbies and circles, if that's your vibe. I'm also a foodie and I don't mind cooking a few shared meals a week.

I don't smoke (anything) or drink and I'm a tidy person. I'm willing to divide up the cleaning of common spaces and do my bit to keep the space in ship shape.

It's been a LONG time since I had roommates -- I've had a family and been a homeowner for 10+ years). BUT -- I still keep in touch with nearly all my previous roommates from my days in San Francisco. Overall I've been very fortunate to have had such great experiences with roommates of the past. I look forward to meeting interesting people and building new potentially lasting friendships and building my social network in NYC, inshaAllah.
