Blind Man Urgently Looking for Room Rental

To Whom It May Concern,

My name is Robert. I am 27, blind, and urgently seeking a room preferably in the Clear Lake, Webster, Friendswood or League City, TX areas. I have been asked to move out of my current residence -- which I found on roomies -- by June 15. I am responsible and goal-driven. I generally keep to myself, but I'm outgoing and social, and hope to be not just your roommate, but your friend as well.

Although i can't see, I am not the stereotype of how a lot of people view disability. I tend to be a homebody, but that's only because ride sharing adds up quickly when you can't drive. I don't sit around. I am very capable and self-sufficient -- certainly not helpless. I love to work out and make music, and I can always be found working on something, practicing an instrument or researching and reading. I am not the most tidy person in the world, but I pick up after myself and keep my organized chaos in my own area. :) I love all animals, especially dogs. I play guitar, drums and bass, and sing.

At this time, the maximum I can afford is $750 per month. Honestly, SSI is my only income at this time. I am more than capable of working, however there is a staggering unemployment rate of blind and visually impaired people -- 70-80% depending on which statistic you look at -- mainly as a result of ignorance regarding job accommodations and being perceived as a liability. I have tried to find employment, and continue to try because I don't want to be tied to the Federal Government all my life. I am even considering going back to school next Fall to continue pursuing an associates degree in radio and broadcasting. I will not share any social security information with you unless you are a certified landlord.

I am okay with teaming up as well,, but I need to meet you and vet you first to know if you are trustworthy. I am more than happy to contribute toward groceries, cook some, and I can keep a clean and orderly house: wash dishes, feed pets, take care of trash, clean bathrooms, etc. I will always make sure rent is paid in full and on time, and follow any rules you have set forth accordingly. That said, I am outgoing, trustworthy, easy to get along with and can pass a background check if necessary. If this works for you, I hope you will please consider me as a tenant.
