Looking for a room

I am a 62-year-old widowed female looking to rent a room somewhere in North Carolina (I am willing to consider any area). I currently live in Wyoming and I am looking to move closer to my extended family who live in North Carolina (Garner and Sanford areas).

I am a medical transcriptionist who works from home. I have been a medical transcriptionist for 35 years. I usually start work in the very early hours (around 2:00 to 4:00 a. m.) and often have to do at least a few hours of work every day, though overall my work hours are extremely flexible. That being said, noises of a normal household do not bother me even though I tend to go to bed early. I definitely do not need so called “quiet hours” so I can sleep.

I am both social and enjoy my quiet time. I was raised as an only child and being with just myself is “usual” for me. I do love to cook, read, play bingo, eat out, go to festivals/street fairs/farmers markets and I particularly enjoy renaissance faires. I am very much a planner.

I am looking to rent a room hopefully in a single-story home. I need to have room for my 6’ folding table (which is what I use for my work) and my chair. I am short, so this table has been cut down so it is the right height for me *grins* I would probably prefer unfurnished but that is not a deal breaker (as long as my table/chair will still fit in the room). I would like to have my own bathroom but again that is not a deal breaker. I prefer to have my rent include everything, including utilities (and use of washer/dryer). I am hoping to find something in the less than $800 range (definitely not more than $1000). I also need a good internet connection that is stable, so I can do my work (that is a deal breaker, obviously).

I would hopefully like to find a roommate who is tidy, conscientious and generally drama-free. Gender/age/orientation/race/religion (I hope I didn’t forget anything … live and let live!) do not matter to me. I love animals but I do not have any of my own, although I would be happy to live with pets!

I can probably move in as soon as August 1st and I definitely want something by October 1st. Later is probably better to have more time to get organized (I am a planner!) but the right opportunity trumps everything. As I said earlier, I currently live in Wyoming and details will require some coordination but hopefully we can work our way through that.
