Writer + NYU Master's Student Relocating From LA

Hey there! I'm Melanie, and I'm a writer and poet looking to move in with some cool people sometime around August. I'd love to live with other creatives, preferably between 23 and 28, who are willing to be in a respectful community.

I'm a quiet, clean person who loves to cook, read, watch films, and play music (violin + electric bass!). I'm a queer woman, 4 20-friendly, and animal enthusiast. This fall, I'm starting a Master's program at NYU in Experimental Humanities, and when I'm not in class I'll be working as a freelance writer. I work in literary journalism, arts writing, profiling, poetry, and more!

It's really important for me to be in a healthy, light environment with people I can trust and have fun with. I'm the kind of person who likes to address discomfort before it turns into conflict and make sure everyone feels safe in our shared space. In turn, I bring a kind, intellectual, and bubbly vibe to the environment!

And just so my profile isn't too generic, here are some not-so-generic things about me: I love late-medieval manuscripts; I grew up in a small town in California's Eastern Sierra; I see a lot of experimental and noise music shows; the only major possession I have is a book collection; I think bugs are cool and often am the roommate who catches spiders/other creatures.
