Relocating-San Antonio, short-term lease to start

I have recently returned back to Texas to be near parents and family as well as for career change. I have been a teacher both in TX and overseas for awhile, now am transitioning to a new career. Working part-time while I research my next career move and apply for permanent employment. Will have no problem covering my bills and I pay on time. Looking to rent for 1 year. Am a mature, responsible person. Non-smoker and no pets, but would like to have or live with dog sometime soon.

ABOUT ME: Have a clean background, am financially stable, do drink socially, but never get carried away. Don’t party or random guests. Love animals, so happy to live with pets.
I enjoy socializing with others, but I also like my quiet and/or alone time. I am laid-back, flexible, no drama person and hope to live with someone similar. I enjoy listening to music, reading, good discussions, watching movies, and cooking.

LOOKING FOR: Place with just 1 other roommate, private bathroom. Decent closet space and some room for a few of my small furnishings, if possible. I will either sell or store the rest. Prefer a roommate who is social and enjoys hanging out at times, but also can respect when a person wants some space or privacy. Someone with a mature attitude, clean (but not a fanatic), not too uptight about things, and respectful to others.

I believe the key to a good roommate situation is communication, respect, and moderation. For example, whatever I am listening to, I don't play it too loud or intrusively and expect the same from a roommate. I am open to negotiate the small day to day stuff to make for a happy living situation. Want to have a place both me and the roommate feels comfortable going home to.
