A fully furnished room for rent in a comfortable 2 BR Apt in Bed Stuy with lots of original details. $1,425/month includes all utilities (electric, gas, and 300 mbps internet) as well as general apartment expenses (t. p., cleaning supplies, etc) and cleaning fees.

Located on Macon Street b/t Nostrand and Marcy Aves on a pretty brownstone and oak tree-lined street. The block stays quiet but is right near busy Fulton Street for transportation & services. The A/C express stop at Nostrand Avenue is 1.5 blocks away, and the LIRR is 4 blocks, as well as multiple bus lines. Nearby Tompkins Avenue is filled with restaurants & bars (Peaches Hot House, Warude Taco & Japanese bowls, Brown Butter Cafe, and Chicky's General Store). Prospect Park is 10-15 mins away by bike or just a few stops on the nearby Franklin Ave Shuttle train. Large, brand new laundromat is 1.5 blocks away.

The apartment is located on the ground floor with a separate entrance from the rest of the building and has a private garden. It's a cozy space filled with books, artwork, and plants. I enjoy cooking and the kitchen is well equipped with cookware, gadgets, cookbooks, etc. The living room/kitchen area is a large, open layout.

I have a cat, so you should like cats! He is an older boy (12 years) and very friendly, but knows when to leave you alone if his presence isn't wanted. No additional pets.

The bedroom is roughly 8.5 x 11 feet and has a window with a view out to the garden. It has a medium-sized closet with an additional storage ‘nook’ above. It is rented furnished (queen bed + frame, dresser, bedside table, bookshelf).

I’ve been in this apartment for 10+ years and have worked to make it a homey place to relax. I am looking for someone who is clean, quiet, and financially responsible and respectful of the space and the roommate relationship.

ABOUT ME:
I’m a female in my early 40’s who works in horticulture for a non-profit. In the warmer months, I spend most days away from the apartment working on-site, but do work from home a lot during the winter. I also pick up a fair amount of freelance work (gardening & garden design) so keep myself busy. I am also a runner and just qualified for my first NYC marathon so it seems I’ll be spending a lot of time prepping for that this year (yikes). All that to say, the apartment is my place to unwind so I tend to not entertain here and socialize elsewhere, and expect the same from any guests.

RENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of 3 months, with an option to extend to 6 months if we are a good match.
Monthly rent is $1,425 which includes all utilities (electric, gas, and 300 mbps internet) and general apartment expenses (tp, cleaning supplies, etc). One month rent as a security deposit is required and is fully refundable upon departure.
