Large room for rent in Prospect Heights

Hello there!

I am looking for a kind and respectful human to welcome into this lovely space. I am an elementary school music teacher. My school is mostly in session IRL, but when we are remote, I teach from the living room between 8am and 2pm. I love singing and playing various instruments, but only during waking hours (promise!).

I am easy-going and have a "live and let live" attitude. I am definitely ok with some mess, and have been known to leave dishes in the sink for a day or two:) I appreciate roommates who communicate directly, and who are cool with boundaries.

Our 4-story apartment building is on the corner of Bergen Street and Vanderbilt Avenue in Brooklyn; the apartment is on the top floor. The building is owned by a lovely family in the area. Since the building is older, maintenance is necessary somewhat often. The owners are gracious and promptly reply to concerns.

The bedroom for rent is huge! (I'm happy to share exact dimensions if you're interested.) Lots of natural light streams in from 4 windows which look out over Bergen St. You will see a bed in the photos - it is yours if you want it. (My former wonderful roommate left it. The frame is sturdy, and the mattress has had a bedbug cover on it all along.) The bedrooms are on opposite sides of the apartment, which is cool :)

Oh - and there's a dishwasher in the kitchen and it works fantastically well.

I will ask you to sign a sublease agreement and pay the deposit in order to secure the room. My lease ends August 1. I plan to renew for another year. If that changes and you would like to stay, you are welcome to take over the lease. (I took over the lease from my last roommate.)
