Large room with two closets in Boerum Hill

Ad ref# 101888980

The Location
Simply could not be better!
Boerum Hill is a stone?s throw from Gowanus, Fort Greene, Downtown Brooklyn, Carroll Gardens, and Cobble Hill. Just steps for the F, G, 2, 3, 4, 5, R, Q, W, D, B and LIRR (which means JFK in under an hour) trains. So many busses.
Fun neighborhood, and people decorate for the holidays. Closest Park is Fort Greene, but we?re also pretty close to Brooklyn Bridge Park and Prospect Park, right by the Botanic Gardens and Brooklyn Museum.
Tons of bars, restaurants, and fun shops all around this incredible neighborhood. There?s every variety of high and low quality international food, plus some gold basics down the street like Rucola and Building on Bond. For shopping, we?re very close to two Trader Joe?s locations and two Targets. I like to get groceries at Brooklyn Fare and produce at Mr. Mango. There is also a Whole Foods and a Whole Foods Express. There is a printing/shipping center and bodega(with a kitty!) on the corner. Betty Bakery a couple blocks away is world class, and we?re also incredible close to Brooklyn Hospital. It?s a quick walk to the fun districts along Fifth Avenue, Atlantic Avenue, Smith Street, and Court Street.

The Room
Two closets means storage is no longer a problem! Each has a rack for hanging clothes, with a massive space above for storing suitcases or boxes.
Four outlets, one on each wall so you?ll always be powered up. Space for whatever sized bed you like(last person had a queen and plenty of space), and a desk or whatever you got. Minimal noise from the street(but it?s still Brooklyn).
Room will be freshly painted, and comes with an air conditioner if desired.

The Apartment
Large, fully furnished, hardwood floors.
Second floor walk up in a building of 16 units.
The apartment is full of colors and good vibes!
The large combined kitchen and living room are divided by a high island, so the common space has a lot more breathing room than usual. The bathroom has a full tub and for some reason we have an industrial toilet that hasn?t clogged in ten years, which is pretty cool. Rain shower is awesome!
No cigarettes please,
Washer in unit
A/C in common area (so you can bake in comfort in summer months)
Wifi/Broadband
Small green space on fire escape with comfy chair and plants(FDNY compliant, of course!), I spend a lot of time out there it?s very nice, accessible through second bedroom
No doorman, but the lobby is under 24 hour camera surveillance
Gas oven/stove
Bike storage in locked area behind building is very convenient
Neighbors who know each other (this is a big deal)
Sweet fuzzy kitty

About you
You should be a happy, open minded person, potentially with a cat. I hope you?ve lived in Brooklyn before, or you?re really excited about it! You are a good communicator, and you don?t like drama at home. You?re serious about finding a symbiotic long term home. Please no couples.

About the Roomie
I have antibodies!
A full time lady bartender before the apocalypse, hoping to return to the fold soon, I love to cook and I?m a big stress baker! I?m a stoner and a vegetarian but you certainly don?t have to be either. I?ve been in this apartment over a decade and I love it, but I?m more than willing to make space for the right person and whatever they want to bring. I want this to be your home.
Current roommate is leaving to live alone after nearly seven happy years of cohabitation.
Because I work at night, especially on weekends, once I can return to work you might not see very much of me if you have a 9-5.
Also I man the at home bar and am always happy to oblige with cocktails or the occasional whiskey factoid. Also I can get wholesale liquor.
I really love puns.

Small Print
Rent is 1250, Internet/Utilities come to 125

How this works
Shoot me a quick message with your interest, and I?ll send you some questions about your living history and habits. When you reply to this email, you?ll be able to ask me any questions you might have about me or the apartment. I can send more pictures of the green space or the bathroom or whatever.
I?ll email you back and we?ll do a FaceTime or Zoom call where I can show you the apartment and chat a little.
Then, we?ll schedule a time to have you come see the room!
When you come by, you can check out the space using proper social distancing. We will both be wearing masks and I am happy to provide gloves if that makes you more comfortable, but as a food service veteran, I?m more of a compulsive hand washer. I?ll show you around and then let you have a little time alone in the room to see how it feels. We?ll hang out and have a conversation to get to know each other a little better.
If this is feeling good, we?ll sit down together and write a roommate agreement that is mutually beneficial and protects us both. Upon signing it, we?ll be roommates! I?m so excited.

This is an amazing spot, and this room isn?t available often. Get in touch!

Hope to hear from you soon!
