Quiet and clean room in a zero-waste household.

I'm in search of an open-minded and liberal roommate(black lives matter and love is love), interested in changing your lifestyle into a more sustainable one, that is both good for your body, wallet, and the environment.
Reversing climate change starts with us and our homes. This is what I strongly believe and I live by it. I don't expect anyone who moves in with me, to be 100% zero waste right off the bat - just willing to learn and willing to slowly change your lifestyle.
My apartment is very spacious, homey, and comfortable. I'm also located close to subways, grocery shopping, and laundry.
I'm looking for someone to join my home, who does not need to be told when something needs to be done and who can communicate very clearly. If you know when it's ok to hang out and when it's not - we'll get along great.

No smokers, please! If you smoke once in a while - you are still a smoker and we will not get along.
No animals - super allergic to most furry friends.

Before COVID I was renting only via the Airbnb platform( which is still an option) and my long term guests didn't seem to have a problem with my rules which you can find below. I hope knowing those will make your choice easier.

HOUSE RULES
I have a few simple rules:
- whatever you need - ask!!
- absolutely no smokers and no smoking !!
- keep it clean - both in your room and the apartment; Load/unload the dishwasher or run the vacuum whenever needed; If you see something that needs to be done - get it done. Simply put it - be helpful! For the time being this is your home - help me take care of it!
- no plastic (shopping, ziplock etc) bags; avoid as much as possible plastic packaged items ;
- no other people are allowed in the apartment unless I give you go ahead; I charge $25/night for additional people;
- keep me posted on your plans so I know when to expect you at the apartment;
- you are free to use the kitchen and to cook your heart out! Remember to clean up afterward. No sharp knives in the dishwasher; no soap on cast iron pans - water only!

HOUSE MANUAL
I run a low-waste and green household and live by this motto: REFUSE, REDUCE, REUSE, REPAIR, RECYCLE, ROT!

I AVOID BUYING AND USING ONE-TIME USE PLASTIC AND PLASTIC PACKAGED ITEMS.

I shop bulk and packaging-free, for most of my groceries. If I do buy anything that is packaged - I choose glass or paper. PLEASE, DO NOT BRING PLASTIC SHOPPING BAGS INTO MY HOME! I have plenty of produce bags and reusable shopping bags, just ask for them !! Afterward, I store my food in reusable containers-mostly in glass boxes and jars.

I'm also happy to get you whatever you need to avoid creating unnecessary waste. I know the city, which makes bulk and waste-free shopping easy for me( ESPECIALLY DURING COVID!). My arrangement with few guests was simple - they left me 30$/ week and a list of what they like and I got it for them in a packaged free version.

I DO NOT HAVE A REGULAR TRASH BIN!
Trash I still produce( very little of it) goes into:
- compost - organic waste goes into a paper bag into the silver bin; When full I take it out to the compost drop of place or my composting bin in the yard.
- recycle - basket for, metal, glass, paper, and plastic are located under the sink; Please make sure all recycling is previously cleaned!
