Downtown Brooklyn

Ad ref# 101814640

I am a student who is returning to my parent's home on Long Island for the summer. So I am looking to sublease my room in my Brooklyn apartment for either the summer or until the end of the lease (10/31).

The apartment building is located in a recently renovated area of downtown Brooklyn - sandwiched between some of the nicest areas of Brooklyn (DUMBO, Brooklyn Heights, etc.). Every subway line I can think of (2,3,4,5, Q, R, C, A, F...N at nights... ) is within a 7 - 12 minute walking distance of the apartment - which is so convenient for commuting anywhere. The location near DUMBO makes for fun walks or easy jogs across the brooklyn or manhattan bridges. The apartment is pet friendly, dogs preferred.

The apartment building is a former factory renovated into an apartment building. Each floor is about ten feet high, which is nice for hanging art, posters, making more storage or just kinda cool. The living room area itself is large, with two couches, a tv, large marble countertop and fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher. There is a ton of cabinet space so if you are a cooker, you will have room to store your supplies. I've also installed large shelving unit in the front closet so there will be shelves for mid-term / long-term supply storage. The one downside is there is one shared bath.

The bedroom I am looking to sublease for the summer is windowless and medium-small in size. The great advantage is there is a full loft bed with a desk beneath. I am also leaving behind two shelving units and a dresser, so there is plenty of space for clothes and belongings. Room includes a/c / fan / heating unit. I don't have an exact on utilities but I believe internet is about $20 per month, $60 for electricity, and $10 or less for gas?

Apartment Building Features:

A laundry room and bike racks in the basement.

There is also a decently landscaped rooftop area that all residents have access to. The roof is large enough that you can go up and still practice social distancing. If things go back to normal, residents also host parties and BBQ on the roof so it is a chance to meet other people in their 20's - 40's.

I should note that the elevator is beginning its transition from manually operated (there's normally an elevator operator working the elevator from 11 am - 11 pm every day) to a modern elevator. I believe this will end by August or mid-august.

I won't be renewing the lease so if you end up liking the room you would also have a chance to sign on for the next year lease.

My room is normally $835 per month before utilities. Because of the pandemic I am offering the room for $700 per month before utilities. If, however, you'd like to stay in the fall I am going to ask for $800 for those months since I'd be losing on the benefit of being closer to my uni when classes start.?
