Looking for a lovely, committed New Yorker to take over the second bedroom in my 2-bedroom Carroll Gardens brownstone apartment.
I am flexible about move in since it's most important to me to find the right person where we both feel comfortable and safe in the space, so I am generally looking for someone to move in between May 1 and June 1, with ideally a one year commitment.
The apartment is fully furnished, including a fully stocked kitchen. I have everything you need if you want to cook from home. Your bedroom is 11x8.5 ft and also has a large double sliding door closet with a storage shelf. The room can fit a full or queen bed with room for additional furniture like a dresser or desk. The bedroom will come unfurnished. I've included two different set ups of the room in the images to give you an idea of the versatility. We're on the top floor of the townhouse so there are no noisy neighbors, phew.
About the neighborhood: Carroll Gardens is a picturesque and quiet, with a vibrant restaurant and bar scene. Buttermilk Channel and Court Street Grocers are on our corner, Frankie's 457, F and F pizza, Santo Bruklin, and Creminis are all within a 2 min walk. Most restaurants and bars in the area have backyards so they have great outdoor dining set-ups. Our apartment is a 5 min walk to Smith/9th st or 8 mins to Carroll St, both on the F/G line. The B57 bus stops on the corner. We have a Trader Joes and Whole Foods nearby, and many Italian specialty shops in the neighborhood if you'd like to shop local. I've lived in CG for 6 years and absolutely love it here!
About me: I'm a female in my late 20s and a small business owner. I'm also in the midst of a yoga teacher training with a studio in the neighborhood. I'm often away for work which had slowed down due to covid, but has been picking up lately. I am vaccinated, and hopefully you are too! My family is originally from Brooklyn and I've lived in the city full-time for 10 years. I have a 9-year old sweet, chill kitty named Garfield who is part of the package. I am pretty relaxed and would like to be able to hang out together in the common spaces, but am also looking for someone who is respectful and clean, like myself. Ideally you are a professional with a full-time job.
The rent is $1100 and we split the wifi, cooking gas, and electric which works out to be roughly $50-100 pp/month. First month and a one-month security deposit required for move in.
