Preference will be given to people who take the time to introduce themselves and include legit, and complete information.

I'm interested in details about you that tell me, first and foremost, what you do for a living, and what your typical work week is like. This is important because I'd like to know you can afford to pay the rent. No offense, this is just reality. Knowing that you have a full time job, is a good start. From there, anything that you think would provide a basic snapshot of who you are, what you're about, and what you're looking for in a place/housemates, is helpful. -- THANK YOU.

HERE IS THE LISTING:

This is a house share -- 1 bedroom in a 3 bedroom beach house across PCH from the ocean in Huntington Beach. There are 3 total housemates -- myself, possibly you, and one other.

If you're interested in living here, you'll be able to open your window, and fall asleep to the sound of waves at night. One of our housemates is moving out after 2 years, to get married. The remaining two of us are looking for a 3rd to take his room. If you're a surfer, love the ocean/beach, or just a relaxed beach lifestyle, this place is for you.

This 3 bedroom / 2 bathroom house is across from the beach, and has an extra guest room for occasional visitors. We are located across PCH, so you can walk to the sand in just a few minutes. The boardwalk/bike path is there, so you can walk/skate/bike ride to Main Street HB/Newport Peninsula, quite easily. Our complex has a gym, pool, jacuzzi, game room, and you'll have a driveway to park in, or your own reserved spot. Easy access to the 55 and not far from the 405.

A successful applicant must have good credit, and a full-time job outside of the home, earning a decent income. You must be able to pass a background check to qualify to sign a lease. This means no criminal history or housing evictions. (This is per the management company, and the application is free and done through them.) Please NOTE: this is NOT an apartment -- but an actual house, in a gated complex of over 300 manufactured homes. The place is well kept, quite and safe. (Among the many great things about this, is that there are no common walls, elevators, stairwells, or hallways -- there's no noise coming through the wall from your neighbors -- like in the big apartment complexes,)

The other housemate and I are non smokers, casual drinkers, and not into drugs. Per our lease this is a non-smoking home so preference will be given to people who are non-smokers. If you do smoke, and would like to apply anyway, please note that any smoking must happen outside the home. ( I don't care if you smoke a little ganja, but it must happen outside.)

The house has a porch and yard, with a BBQ grill, and you'd be welcome to make full use of the kitchen, and common spaces, including pots/pans/etc. We have high-speed internet, and TV but we don't watch a lot of TV so there's no cable -- we stream. The house is casually furnished with most things that anyone would need in order to be comfortable. So if you're moving with the minimum -- we've got you covered. On the other hand, if you have lots of furniture, we might be willing to juggle things around to accommodate your stuff. (Let's talk.)

Having friends over is OK, as are responsible guests. There is a spare room for pre-arranged visits by family and friends. Occasional overnight guests in your room are OK. Myself and the remaining housemate are both in relationships and our partners stay-over occasionally. This is OK for you too. But, no live-in bf/gfs -- so if it's every night, that's not going to fly. I am NOT looking to rent to a couple.

A little bit about us:

I'm a gay man, in my 40's, entrepreneur, college educated, well traveled, sociable, like to BBQ, travel, and work from home. Also work out of the house most weekends.

The other guy is in his mid 20's, college graduate working 9-5ish, in environmental consulting. He works in an office every day and travels many weekends. His is active, plays a lot of softball. There is a possibility he may be moving out in July.

We get along well, are social around the house, but also give one another space to live our lives. We're looking for a housemate who will be a good fit.

We're open to a roommate of any race, religion, sexual orientation (LGBTQ friendly -- you must be too), gender, or national origin. What is important to us is that you be fun, and relaxed, with good communication skills and a strong sense of mutual respect. You must be financially responsible. NOTE: The room for rent has a shared bathroom so you should feel comfortable with that.

The house has 3 bedrooms, 1 Master and 3 Standard. The room for rent is one of the STANDARD sized rooms, with a SHARED bathroom. There is a living room/dining room, full kitchen and laundry.

This STANDARD ROOM (approx. 12'x12' w/large closet and shared bathroom) is available BEGINNING May 1, 2019 for $950.00 per month. This includes some fixed household expenses (trash, parking (we rent an extra private parking space)) and you will be responsible for 1/3 of the shared expenses (gas/electric/water/internet). This 1/3 is about $50 per month.

THERE IS A 1 MONTH SECURITY DEPOSIT required when you move in. Security deposit secures the room for you, as the move in date is 5/1/19.

This is a great house for an active person who enjoys a beach lifestyle. We are close to downtown Huntington Beach and Pacific City, an easy drive to Irvine, Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, Garden Grove, Westminster, even Long Beach (straight up PCH)

So... come and go, relax, surf, ride your bike, have fun, enjoy your home -- bbq's, GoT nights, bonfires on the beach.... If you what to live well, in a comfortable home, without spending a ton of money -- this is the place for you. The beach has events every weekend, all summer long, so there's plenty to do.
