Beautiful Park Slope 2 Floor Brownstone Share

The semi-furnished bedroom for rent

I am looking for a roommate who has full-time employment outside of the home. You will rent a large room with a full, private bath in a beautiful brownstone in historic Park Slope. The house is located just a few blocks from Prospect Park. The potential roommate is very clean and orderly, values privacy has no pets, and is a non-smoker of ANY kind.

About the Room: The entire apartment has wood floors, large windows in all the rooms, and ACs in your room and kitchen. Located on the 2nd floor, this large front room faces south and includes a large wardrobe/storage unit. You provide your own bed, mattress, and other necessary furnishings. There is an eat-in kitchen, a shared space overlooking the adjacent gardens.

Also on the 2nd floor is my office, which is not a shared space. My living space and bathroom are on the 3rd/top floor. The family occupies the ground and parlor floors of the brownstone.

Rent is $1400 per month and is due on the 1st. It includes a $50 share of $150 monthly housekeeping fees and utilities, except during summer months (May-Sept) when air conditioners are used. There is a security deposit of one month's rent when you move in. We share the costs of household cleaning items for the housekeeper. You cover all costs for your food, monthly supplies for the upkeep of your room, and private bathroom.

A Little About Me: I am the founder and executive director of a 35-year non-profit performing arts organization. I enjoy swimming, reading, martial arts, and dance. As both my home and the office are in the apartment, I consider the space a place of creativity, reflection, and quiet sanctuary.

About the Area: There are many nearby shops, restaurants, dry cleaners, banks, hospital, Park Slope Food Coop, supermarkets, grocery stores, bike rental places, etc. Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, Brooklyn Museum, and Brooklyn Public Library's Central Branch are only a few blocks away. Transportation is easily accessible by train, bus, and rail. The R train is 3 blocks away, just one stop from one of Brooklyn’s main transit hub, Atlantic/Barclay Center.

Minimum stay is six months. A credit check and employment references, a must. A month's rent and security are required. The Room will be available from October 1, 2020.
