Unfurnished Room w/ Tons of Natural Sunlight
We (two professional women working in non-profit) are currently looking for a female roommate to complete our home. Our ideal roommate would be responsible, respectful, easy going, drama free, and very clean. The home environment we'd like to maintain is one that's open-minded, kind, and supportive so if those qualities are important to you then perhaps we could be a great fit (:
THE ROOM FOR RENT
The room comes unfurnished. It has two large closets for storage with tall built-in mirrors that bounce off all of the natural sunlight flowing in from the window. A full/queen size bed fits with plenty of room to spare. This room is also set away from the main street so it will help minimize the noise created by the city that never sleeps.
THE APARTMENT
The apartment has an entrance area with a guest shoe cabinet, large hallways covered with art, a spacious living room with sleeper sofa, a galley kitchen, a bathroom with clawfoot tub, and 3 large bedrooms (which don't share walls so we don't tend to hear each other when we're in our rooms). Since we're on the top floor, the apartment gets tons of natural sunlight. It's located in a pre-war, walk-up building on the fifth floor. Lastly, it has a lovely view of the GWB bridge towers (photo included).
THE AREA
Commuting around is easy as the apartment is only three blocks away from an express A train (which gets you to Time Square in 25 minutes). For local subway service, the C and 1 trains are available at the same station. The apartment is a 3-minute walk from the Presbyterian Hospital and Columbia Medical School. The neighborhood has plenty of supermarkets, places to eat, bars, bike paths, parks (J Hood Wright Park is around the corner and the Cloisters is a 15 minutes walk away).
Below we've included a list of some landmarks within 5-15 minutes walking distance so you get a sense of why we love this neighborhood:
- J Hood Wright Park
(last 2 photos are taken at this park)
- The Little Red Lighthouse
- Morris-Jumel Mansion
- The Cloisters
THE PRICE
The price includes everything: rent, all utilities (water, heat, electricity, and gas), internet, basic cable, and streaming through the TV (such as Netflix/Hulu Plus/HBO GO/Showtime, etc).
If this sounds like your dream home please reach out! Otherwise, thank you for taking the time to read through our post. We wish you well on your search.
