Full service doorman building in exceptionally safe neighborhood?picturesque Carnegie Hill location is three blocks from Museum Mile (Metropolitan, Guggenheim, Neue Museum, etc.) and Central Park but also only 3 blocks from 86th Street subway?10 minutes to midtown door-to-door. Same subway line also takes you directly to Soho, East Village, and Tribeca/Financial District in about 25 minutes. Very convenient to Mt. Sinai, Weill-Cornell, Lenox Hill hospitals, Rockefeller University, UN.

Bedroom is large (13 ?x 20, 260 square feet), very sunny, fully furnished with good quality 19th century American Country antiques and queen-size bed with super-comfortable 21st century luxury mattress. Desk/work space, huge empty closet and lots of personal storage.

This Upper East Side neighborhood is very special-- it is charming and elegant but lively, with lots of cute restaurants, upscale boutiques, nice places to have a drink, and cultural activities at 92nd Street Y. Woody Allen lives a few blocks away and has used this street for shoots; Europeans especially like it a lot. Apartment is in back of building, on high floor and overlooks interior courtyard?so very quiet. Especially well-located for runners as it is right near Central Park (Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis) Resevoir.

There is a windowed kitchen?a rarity in New York City?which you are welcome to use for light cooking only. Microwave, toaster-oven in addition to all major appliances. Bathroom is shared but bedrooms are at opposite ends of apartment so layout affords good privacy.

A/C and Wi-Fi equipped, hardwood floors throughout. All linens and other household furnishings and equipment available/provided.

The apartment has access to a web Pilates channel and Pilates mat equipment which you are welcome to use. Many other local fitness options available.

You should be professional/academic, quiet but friendly, respectful, considerate of personal space, and drama-free--I promise the same. If you need a place to bring the party home, or host overnight guests of the significant other variety, this is not the right situation for you. I don't cook myself and I prefer someone who doesn't either, but we can talk about this. (You're welcome to host and/or cook as you like when I'm away, obviously.) Non-smoking apartment. Women only.

$1800/month plus utilities and housekeeping. First and last months rent plus returnable deposit of $350 required to book. Available May 15.
