29 y/o Fem. seeks roommate in spacious Midtown apt
The room:
My roommate is moving to another city, which means that I have her bedroom available. It's big enough for a full sized bed, two dressers, night stand, and bookshelf (dimensions 8x11). The room will be unfurnished once my roommate leaves, although she is willing to sell her bed and armoire. I'm a little flexible on the move in date - you can move in between January 6th and January 15th.
The closet has a ton of storage space - it's about 5 feet wide with built in shelves to help you organize.
Also, if you'd rather take the bigger master bedroom (for a little more money, $1700), it's HUGE. I wouldn't mind switching rooms so you can have that one instead.
The building:
My building is a high-rise, elevator building with a doorman and gym. Located in Midtown West (aka Hell's Kitchen), it's in the heart of the restaurant district, and walking distance to Central Park.
Location:
The 2 bedroom/1 bathroom apartment has a fantastic midtown location with access to the A, C, E, 1, 2, 3, and N, Q, R subways lines in under ten minutes. The bedroom overlooks the midtown skyline, with views of the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building.
Midtown West is lively during the early evenings because it is famous for its restaurant scene. However, after about 10pm, it becomes fairly quiet and is a great place to recharge and get a good night's sleep. The area is very safe and is inhabited mostly by a mix of young professionals and small families.
Amenities:
Our utilities are included!! Internet is not, but it's only $32 per person per month. I have a full set of dishes and kitchen appliances (including dishwasher!), which you are welcome to use. Stove, oven, microwave, blender, utensils, pots, pans, etc.
There is laundry in the building for $2 per wash and $2 per dry. The gym in the building costs $10 per month, or you can join the Planet Fitness that is 5 blocks away.
I already have a couch, for us to share, but don't have a kitchen table since it belongs to my roommate and she's taking it when she moves out.
About me:
I'm 29, female, and have been living and working in New York for three years. My schedule during the week is to wake up at around 10am and work till about 8pm since I work with people on the west coast. About half the time I work from home and half the time I go into the office.
Weekend nights I'll usually meet up with friends at a nearby bar. I enjoy going out for drinks and staying out late when I have the next day free, but I'm always quiet and respectful, and would seek a roommate who does the same. I like spending chatting with my roommates when we're both home, but also value my quiet time in my room.
I'm clean - no dirty dishes or overflowing trash cans, but I'm fine with a little clutter (notebook on the table, sweater on the couch, etc). I have a long distance boyfriend. We see each other about once a month.
I want my roommate to feel like it's home, and not like they're coming into MY place, so you can decorate and get comfy. There's plenty of room :)
