Room in Penthouse Duplex - with Private Roof Deck!

I have 1 bedroom available in a large 2 bedroom 1100 sf top floor brownstone duplex apartment in the heart of Manhattan (Murray Hill)! 5 blocks to Grand Central, easy access to the Midtown Tunnel and near amenities, restaurants/bars, cafes, supermarkets etc :-)

You will be sharing the apartment with my fianc? (Andrew) and I. Saying that, we have a house out of town as well so you will be getting the apartment to yourself a lot of the time! We occasionally have our two friendly cats, Bailey and Stella, at the apartment with us but this is infrequent- and they are so cute.

The apartment has recently had upgraded hardwood floors and a new, private roof deck, which is accessed from the top bedroom. The deck is open and airy and boasts views of the Empire State and Chrysler buildings. It is a cool deck- with a table, bbq and sunbeds- which you can use. Unlike many decks in the city, this one is actually nice enough that you would want to relax there!

The room being offered is the downstairs bedroom, which is furnished. The bedroom faces the back of the building so is very quiet by NY standards- and is nice and bright. It has a queen size bed, bedside tables and plenty of built-in wardrobe space.

The apartment itself is a 2 bedroom, top floor walk-up (3 internal flights of stairs) in a classic, well maintained NY brownstone. There are only 4 other apartments in the building, and this is the top floor duplex, so very private. It is awesome NY pad- very bright, with a large skylight in the living area. It has one bathroom, which we would share when there, but it is a good size, with lots of storage. The apartment has a built-in dishwasher, internal washer & dryer, 60 inch TV with cable, turbo internet, fireplace, new split-cycle air conditioning and lots of kitchen appliances you can use.

We are two professional, respectful, easy-going but fun people. I'm an Aussie and Andrew is a Brit :-) We are looking to share with an easy-going, tidy, female - professional or student ok. The apartment is there to be used so you are welcome to have friends over from time to time (just not all the time). That said, it cannot be party central, it is a home first and foremost! We would both be respectful of each other's space.

To make it easy, utilities (gas/electricity/air-con), internet, cable & bi-weekly cleaning will be a fixed $250pm on top of the rent. We are each responsible for our own food and any other expenses. Cleaning products etc would be split.

Monthly rent is $2500 for anywhere up to 6 months.
