At 101st...rent anywhere from $900. 00 for a GENUINELY part time roommate to $1390. 00 - per month for a full time one (see below for why.) The total rent is $3475, I pay the balance. Bedroom not furnished. Utilities are extra (see below.)

Only two people TOTAL will live in this unit. No couples.

Available January 15th or Feb 1st.

This is for 1 year. Not a sublet. Might consider 6 months.

The total rent will be $3475. I have the master bd/bth, you'd have the "smaller" 10' x19' second BR with walk-in closet and your own bath. Washer & dryer in-unit. Building built in 2009, 24-hr attended lobby, but no other frills. Except maybe the large common roof deck above the 8th floor. Also, a laundry room for extra large loads or comforters, etc. Which is rarely used, as all units have smaller w/d in unit. Only 34 units in building.

My current roommate pays 40% of the rent and 50% of the utilities. I'd want the same sort of arrangement for any normal, full-time roommate.

HOWEVER I would charge less for a TRULY part-time roommate - a flight attendant, travelling salesperson, someone who lived outside NYC but only commuted in M-F, someone who worked in NYC only half the time for some other reason, or someone who worked outside NYC but was mainly in town on the weekends, for example. That means someone who is not on the island of Manhattan at all for two or more 24 hour-periods per week every week.

In such a case I'd be willing, depending on how often the person was around, to go as low as 25% of the rent and 30% of the utilities. But again, this would have to be a TRULY part-time roommate and it would have to be written into the sublease. I will NOT charge you less if you live there full time "but promise to stay out of my way." Or are "really busy". I am also "really busy." That is not the deal.

So we are talking rent anywhere from $900 to $1, 390 per month or in between, depending. Utilities TOTAL about $600 per month, or $300 ish per, including ultra-high speed Internet, FIOS TV, 2X a month maid service, and heat/electricity. you'd pay anywhere from 30-50% of that, depending on the full-time-iness of your situation.

Since you would be a perfect stranger, perhaps even a very nice one, I would need first and last months and a one month's deposit up front.

Closest transport = 6 train @ 103rd or 96th, M96, M15 or M15 Select. It takes me 25 minutes from front door of my apartment to turning on my computer at work @59th/Park. When I have to go to our Wall Street office, it takes more like 45. Its 20 minutes by the M4 to Columbia. You can use Google Maps to figure out anything else.

About me: work a "Wall Street" job mid-town East, rarely drink, not a drug-user, clean, but still need that maid 2X a month, cook rarely, don't have guests over often, male, 40s. I have a sardonic (or perhaps sarcastic) sense of humour. I also like to spell things British-style, you will note.

You should be preferably be male, could be whatever orientation. You should not have frequent over-night guests even if you opt for the "full-time roommate" option above. You can also NEVER smoke tobacco. Not outside, not ever. Non-negotiable. You can drink and do "other things" as long as its in your room and you are not having regular parties in the apartment.

I MIGHT consider a dog but only if its NOT a lap dog (hate small dogs) and that would factor into the rent because it would surely chew my stuff at some point.
