Large, sunny, master bedroom with Private Entrance

The room:
Large, sunny, master bedroom with Private Entrance (short walk from Prospect Park!). The room is huge (16x10) and the ceilings are quite high (9 ft!). It has a large built in closet with ample storage space (both inside and above), three outlets, wood floors, and big double windows overlooking a small courtyard. Not only will it fit any furniture you may have (bed, desk, drawers, etc), it is both bathroom and kitchen adjacent and set off the street (no noise!). The rent is $1, 000 including utilities.

The Roommates:
There are two of us. We are a newlywed couple and have lived in the street side bedroom (with a door that leads directly into our room) for a little over two years. He is a playwright/elementary schoolteacher in his late 20s. She works in video production and is in her early 20s. We are very sociable and prefer living with a friendly person who is open to sharing family style dinners and unwinding after a long day with witty banter and socially appropriate vices (beer/wine/netflix/video games etc). However, thanks to the private entrances, we only have to see each other if we want to! But we'd prefer to be friendly instead of strangers.

The Apt:
The first entrance opens to the main hallway. On the left is the bathroom. At the end is the kitchen. To the right is the master bedroom. The second entrance opens directly to our bedroom. The bathroom has brand new mats and shower curtain. The kitchen provides more than enough space to cook (fully stocked with a blender, rice cooker, crock pot, microwave, toaster oven, and keurig coffee machine). We are tidy but not fascists. We clean regularly without making it a "thing".

The Location:
3 min walk to Sterling St (2/5) and Winthrop St (2/5) stops.
10 min walk to Prospect Park Station (B/Q/S) stops.
B44 stops across the st.
B43 stop is 3 min walk away.

A nice, quiet, up-and-coming neighborhood. I've never felt unsafe walking home late at night (even as a fragile looking Asian female). 24 hour Laundromat literally next door. Neighborhood Delis and takeout everywhere. Grocery stores, hardware shops, hair salons, neighborhood bars. . . the Brooklyn usual. Peppered with marvelously delicious/cheap Caribbean restaurants (best Jerk Chicken in the city) and bakeries (the most famous of which is located on the block and IS addictive). Most importantly, a short walk to the park!

No Couples Please (our lease is for 3 occupants total).
Smokers are welcome (we smoke in our half of the apartment).
No Pets (unfortunately our lease doesn't allow pets).

There is no application process because we already have a lease, but you will still need to sign a standard roommate agreement/contract for the agreed upon length of your stay. Our current lease runs until July 31st 2015 and we will give preference to those seeking to stay for this full period of time. We plan to resign our lease for another year.

First Month Rent and Security Deposit required upon signing.
