I keep to myself for the most part. I have a complete and full life. Generally speaking, I am not looking for a new best friend and their group of friends to join. I just want a place to live.

I'm looking for a long-term (2-5 years or maybe longer) Room/Share/living arrangement with a decent, honest, quiet, mature, independent, employed-outside-the-home professional person. . . with their own life. Male or female. (Approximately) Late twenties to sixties. I'm not rigid or afraid of people with a different background than myself. Just looking for an agreeable lifestyle and personality and similar life values. A creative, artistic, or slightly non-conformist person would be a plus.

THE ROOM AND LIVING SITUATION

Looking for a clean, decent size room, EMPTY OR MINIMALLY-FURNISHED. The environment should be DRAMA-FREE. No musicians or DJs, please. Quiet living desired. I rarely have guests. Hoping for less than average guest hosting from you. I am looking for as few roommates in the apartment as possible. No couples, preferred. (Depends on the size of the room and how close quarters the living is.)

I need at least one window. Preferably two. I have to have air circulation. I don't need a spectacular view, but no close brick wall situations, please.

I need access to the kitchen including cooking, food storage, some counter space, and frig space. I don't share food. I have very little use for the living room if the rented room is a decent size (the room is my focus, not the rest of the house for the most part). Please don't advertise use of the kitchen and the rest of the apartment if you're really hoping for someone that never cooks, always eats out, and is never at home.

CLEANLINESS

Typically, I clean as I go. I don't leave dishes in the sink for days or leave a mess after cooking. I clean the shower and toilet after each use. Even so, a more thorough weekly or bi-weekly (as needed) Sat. or Sun morning cleaning of the kitchen and bathroom is preferred. I don't clean up after other people and their guests. My feeling about cleanliness is that communal areas should be kept ordered and tidy. Your room is your business. If one is messy, then the door should be kept closed. The house (communal area) should be clean enough so that if your boss dropped you off from work and asked to come in and use the bathroom, you should not be horrified. No roaches. No mice. No bedbugs. No fleas.

NO DRUGS AND MINIMAL ALCOHOL.

NO SMOKING OF ANYTHING IN THE LIVING SPACE OR JUST OUTSIDE. THIS INCLUDES VISITORS AS WELL.

PETS, LIKE WELL-BEHAVED DOGS OR NICE CATS, ARE OK. YES, I AM WILLING TO CARE FOR THEM WHEN YOU GO AWAY.
