Returning professional looking for a roommate

Hello!
I'm Jonathan, a engineer who is returning to NYC after a few months in London. I'll be back in the US in the first week of August and will be ready to move by August 16th.

I work in Long Island so, I'm looking for a room and a flatmate in Queens or Brooklyn, with easy access to LIRR services. The farther west, the better so, the LIC/Astoria/Woodside areas in Queens or the Fort Greene/Prospect Heights/Clinton Hill/Boerum Run/Park Slope/etc areas in Brooklyn would be preferable. I dont need any luxurious accomodations. However, I will want a single room and will need space for a large dog. I have a Lab-Staffordshire terrier mix. (He's quite friendly and is house broken). I may want garage parking but, that's circumstancial.

I'd prefer to share a place with someone like myself; a young(er) professional with an open mind, hobbies and an active social life. We don't have to be best friends but, dinner every now and then would be great!

I'm an independent person who tends to spend his time during the week, working, exercising, attending classes, reading, playing with my dog, taking photographs and/or listening to music. I cook a lot, as well. Weekends tend to be more sponteanous. You will usually find me out with friends enjoying a drink, seeing a show, having dinner or attending a concert. Parks, museums and the city's architecture and infrastructure can also pique my interest, from time to time.

I don't make much noise, I'm cleanly (but not always super tidy) and usually too busy to get in anyones way. I'm easy going and tend not to be bothered by little things.
I won't be asking my flatmate to take responsibility for my pet. I only ask that you be friendly towards him as he will be friendly and loving towards you. Otherwise, there is nothing to worry about.

I think it would be best for me if I found a person with similar interests and/or needs and found a place with him/her together. However, those with a room to rent should not be afraid to contact me if you think we would work well together.

That said, I will be back in the US in the first week of August. I can be reached by e-mail until then. Afterwards, phone will be preferable.
